The Postman’s Iconic Humans Mural Trail

During the launch of the programme in July 2023, The Future Walls team commissioned celebrated duo The Postman to come and install over 20 mini-murals. Intentionally circulated in the heart of Sunderland’s creative community, the temporary murals have been installed all over the Sunniside district. Some of the pieces are hard to miss as people navigate the area, but some of them are harder to spot and found in unusual places.

We created a map with all of the locations of the murals, intended for urban art fans or just curious minds to follow the trail, spotting as many iconic humans as possible…from Dorothy in Wizard of Oz to Hans Solo and Princess Leia from Star Wars.
